FBLA officers attend conference

HAMBURG — Six members of the Wallkill Valley Regional High School chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) attended the New Jersey FBLA-PBL Fall Leadership Conference at the Pines Manor in Edison on October 26.
Co-Presidents Zach Dora and Garett Koch, Vice President Harshil Bhavsar, Treasurer Ricky Limon, Community Service Vice President Riley Cunniffe, and Webmaster Abhishek Patel represented the chapter. State President Garett Koch opened the General Session and introduced the state theme, “New Jersey FBLA-PB: Leaders in Action.”
The keynote speaker was Michael Dermer, author of “The Lonely Entrepreneur,” and healthcare industry innovator. The officers attended various workshops that focused on developing leadership skills. These workshops included “High School to College,” “Junior Achievement Opportunities & JA Titan,” “So You Want to be an Officer,” “Running an Effective Chapter,” and “Community Service and the March of Dimes.” The local officers had the opportunity to network with New Jersey FBLA members from various high schools. Wallkill Valley members participated in the March of Dimes Basket for Babies and decorate a pumpkin contest.
