FRANKLIN – Police arrested two men last Wednesday for trafficking heroin near the Hardyston Elementary School on State Route 23, according to a statement.

Brielle Biggs, 22, of Lake Tamarack, formerly of Hardyston and Michael J. Wall, 23, of Sussex, were driving through area on Route 23 on Oct. 10 when a bystander saw their car driving erratically and called police, Sgt. Gregory Cugliari said.

An investigation following the traffic stop resulted in police charging Wall with burglary, theft, and distribution of heroin in a school zone and a park area, according to the police.

Police did not provide details of items found in the search of the car.

Biggs, who is awaiting sentencing on previous drug charges, was also charged with intent to distribute in a school zone and a park area, according to the release.

The sale and use of heroin is common in Franklin, Cugliari said. “It seems to be a drug of choice,” he said. “We’re seeing a lot of it lately.”

Bail for both men was set at $100,000 with no ten percent option. They are awaiting trial in the Sussex County Jail, police said.
