Don’t count your chicks until they hatch

Students in Mr. Allen Brocious’ third-grade class at Delaware Valley Elementary School hatched ten chicken eggs this month.
The eggs came from a couple of sources and are from mixed breeds. Half of the eggs were donated by Aiden Eames family.
The first step was to set up an incubator and get the temperature as close to 100 degrees as possible. The best hatching temperatures for chickens are between 98 and 101 degrees Fahrenheit.
The ten chicks hatched last week. Four students took them home over the long weekend to tend to them.
