Community and jazz bands to open concert series

LAKE HOPATCONG — The Jefferson Township Community Band and Jazz Band will open the 2014 summer concert series on Friday, June 27 at the Victorian gazebo, located in the Jefferson Township Municipal Complex on Weldon Road.

The concert will begin at 7 p.m. and is sonsored by the Jefferson Township Public Library.

The Community Band will present a repertoire of popular favorites including the classics, Broadway musicals, standard marches, and patriotic salutes performed by local musicians under the direction of Peter Tummillo. Also performing will be the jazz band ensemble, also directed by Tummillo.

Attendees are asked to bring a blanket or chair for their comfort; and non-alcoholic beverages, picnic dinners, and snacks are permitted on the grounds unless the concert is moved indoors due to weather conditions. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be moved indoors to the Jefferson Township High School auditorium, 1010 Weldon Road.
