F.S. Burroughs/North Jersey Trout Unlimited (www.nnjtu.org) will host the very popular annual Children’s Fishing Contest this coming Jefferson Township Day on Saturday, July 12.

The contest will run from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Weldon Road Fishing Education Pond, located across the street from the Jefferson Township High School (1010 Weldon Road) in Oak Ridge.

NJTU members will be on hand helping children bait their lines, measuring and weighing their catch, and awarding prizes. The contest is open to all boys and girls up to 15 years of age, and pre-registration is not necessary nor is there any fee to participate. Children must, however, bring their own bait and fishing equipment; and the catch-and-release program will be in force.

Prizes awarded will include grand prizes for the first, second, and third largest fish caught in each age group. For information, call John Nordstedt at 973-586-9855 or email jenord@optonline.net.
