Court Appointed Special Advocates of Morris and Sussex Counties celebrated its 31st year and raised funds for child advocacy at Casino Night, its annual gala, April 19 at the Park Savoy Estate in Florham Park. Local law firms and businesses supported the event by providing sponsorships, journal ads, and gifts.
CASA Casino Night raised unrestricted funds for CASA programs and increased awareness of the plight of children in the foster care system. These children, often victims of abuse and neglect, have been removed from their homes and placed in foster care.
“Our Casino Night was an evening of energy and passion; members of the community came together to make a difference. The money raised from this event will help our organization to expand our programs and enhance the advocacy we provide to children in foster care,” said Lisa Barsky Firkser, CASA of Morris and Sussex Counties’ executive director.
The funds raised will go directly to support CASA’s mission to recruit, train and supervise volunteers who provide a voice in court to assure each child a safe, permanent and nurturing home
CASA of Morris and Sussex Counties is part of a statewide network of community-based nonprofit programs that recruit, screen, train and supervise volunteers to advocate for children removed from their homes, working with them one on one.
