Many different species and breeds of animals found on farms will be live and on display at the New Jersey State Fair/Sussex County Farm and Horse Show.

Five pole barns feature a parade of animals. There are beef cattle, dairy cows, sheep, swine, alpacas, meat and dairy goats. Watch several breeds of dairy cows being milked on schedule at the Milking Parlor and hear how the milk goes from cow to carton.

The Small Animal Building holds bunches of bunnies. Most are raised as 4-H projects. Sussex County is one of the top three counties in New Jersey for numbers of 4-H Rabbit Clubs.

At the Honey Show, you can find the queen bee in a cross section of a hive and learn from a beekeeper about bee habits.

Even domestic animals on a farm get their time to shine. There are demonstrations of the Dog Obedience Drill Team and Seeing Eye Dogs, and a 4-H Cat Show.

For horse lovers, there are horse show classes every day. Quarter horses are featured August 7th & 8th. The Sussex County Horse Show runs August 9th-14th. Riders of all ages and horses provide a show for fans and the casual observers alike.

There are plenty of animals to see on the grounds, so fair goers are asked to leave their pets at home. Only ADA animals are admitted.
