A cyberattack on our newsroom, a fire at the printer

To our readers:

This spring, we are asking you to consider making a contribution to our newsroom after a tumultuous four months.

Back in March, our servers were attacked by ransomware. Our team worked around the clock to get our papers out without access to the software we need for building the papers, designing ads and pages, billing advertisers, and more.

For over a month, we created the papers from scratch while we rebuilt our servers, and purchased new computers and software. Despite lacking the essentials, we still managed to get your paper published and mailed to you on time each week.

Shortly after getting back on our feet in late April, there was a fire at the printing plant we normally use. We, and other newspapers in the tri-state-area, had to compete to find a new printing plant to take our papers. Instead of shipping them to and from New Jersey, we’re now paying to truck our papers from Massachusetts each week.

Despite it all, we never missed an issue. But we could use your support.

Please consider donating to our paper at www.bit.ly/supportyourpaper. Any amount helps our newsroom deliver the local news that matters most to your community.

And, as always, please support our advertisers, and remember to shop local.
