PHOTO BY CHRIS WYMAN On March 21-22, the parking lots were full as hundreds of wine and food enthusiasts came to Crystal Springs for the Seventh Annual New Jersey Wine & Food Festival. Although FridayþÄôs unexpected snowfall may have made the trip take longer than expected, lovers or fine foods and wine traveled to the resort from all over the New York metro area and from as far south as Frenchtown in Hunterdon County for a weekend of indulgence.

For the second year in a row Texas Smoke BBQ won the top prizes for ribs and sauce at the recent Rock, Ribs, and Ridges festival at the Sussex County Fairgrounds. The business is located on Route 15 South in Jefferson.

PHOTO BY CHRIS WYMAN Under a bright blue sky hundreds of residents attended the 100th Birthday Celebration of Franklin School last Saturday. The day began with musical offerings by the Franklin School Chorus and the Franklin Band. Shortly after 1 p.m., the official Sussex County plaque recognizing the Franklin School was unveiled and doves were released to fly above the crowds. The school was the last remaining Kindergarten through 12th grade school in New Jersey until the Wallkill Valley Regional High School opened in 1982

Both Hamburg SchoolþÄôs Chief School Administrator Roger Jinks, Jr. and Vice Principal Mrs. Jacqueline Kartanos got to handle the a nearly six-foot long king snake on May 29 as a reward for a successful project by the students.
