16 schools compete in track meet
HAMBURG. Emilio Galindo of Sussex Middle School and Annika Labance of Glen Meadow Middle School in Vernon were the MVPs.
Sixteen schools took part in the annual Sussex County Middle School Track Meet at Wallkill Valley Regional High School on May 19-20.
It was hosted by Hardyston Township Middle School.
Participating schools were Andover, Byram, Frankford, Franklin, Hardyston, Kittatinny, Lafayette, Montague, Newton, Ogdensburg, Pope John, Sparta, Stanhope, Sussex Christian, Sussex Wantage and Vernon.
Emilio Galindo of Sussex Middle School was awarded the male Most Valuable Player (MVP).
Annika Labance of Glen Meadow Middle School in Vernon was awarded the Female MVP.
Team trophies were awarded for first, second, third and fourth place.
For the girls, first place went to Glen Meadow, second to Sparta Middle School, third to Pope John XXIII Middle School and fourth to Sussex.
For the boys, first place went to Sussex, second to Montague Township School, third to Sparta and fourth to Glen Meadow.
