Sussex County Main Library 125 Morris Turnpike, Frankford 973-948-3660 Knitter's Club 1 p.m. or 7 p.m., Wednesdays in September Join other knitters at the library for an hour. Learn new stitches, make new friends and share patterns. No registration required. Preschool Story Time 1:30 p.m., Tuesdays starting Sept. 27 or 10 a.m., Thursdays starting Sept. 29 Registration begins on Monday, Sept. 12. For ages three to five years old, for five weeks ending on Oct. 25 or Oct. 27. Stories, activities and a craft will be included in a 45-minute program. Adults are expected to remain in the library and children should be able to sit alone. Call the children's department for more information. Fall Toddler Story Time 10 a.m., Wednesdays in October Registration begins on Sept. 12. This half-hour program is for children that are two years old, accompanied by an adult, and will run for 4 weeks ending on October 26. (Adult must accompany child at all times). Stories, activities and a craft will be included in each session. Call the children's department for more information. Living Well 10-11:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 16 Haylee Boyle, registered dietician from Rutgers Cooperative Extension, will lead a workshop about healthy eating. Learn ways your family can improve their overall wellness by eating healthy, and incorporating physical activity into their daily lives. Registration required. Nite Time Adult Book Club 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 20 This month's book to be discussed is "The Life of Pi: A Novel" by Yann Martel. Possessing encyclopedia-like intelligence, the unusual zookeeper's son Pi Patel sets sail for America, but when the ship sinks, he escapes on a life boat and is lost at sea with a dwindling number of animals, until only he and a hungry Bengal tiger remain. Afternoon Book Club 12 noon, Wednesday, Sept. 21 New this fall is a book club for adults that will meet in the afternoon. They will meet the third Wednesday of each month, and read the same book as the Nite Time Adult Book Club each month. Beware Of The Bear 4 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 21 Registration begins Monday, Sept. 5. Come learn about the life cycle, habitat and behavior of bears. Learn bear safety in your own backyard. Artifacts and a child's safety book are included. Program presented by Lori Space Day, Zoologist at Space Farms. This program is for children in Grades 1 and up. Local History Lecture: Early Education In Sussex County 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 24 Lecturer: Jennie Sweetman, local historian and columnist for the New Jersey Herald. Can you imagine students not being able to return home from school due to a snow storm, all piling into someone's home and no way to contact the parents? This is just one of the aspects of education in Sussex County during the colonial period that Sweetman will discuss. Registration required. Magical Mystical "Time Machine" 4 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 6 Registration begins Sept. 19. Ride the imaginary "NJ Time Machine." See, touch and marvel at fluorescent rocks, Native American artifacts, insects in amber, a dinosaur habitat and more. Program presented by Fred Young. For children in Grades 2-6.
