Land Conservancy's new member campaign under way
The Land Conservancy of New Jersey has launched its Fall Membership drive. “Membership contributions make it possible for the Conservancy to continue our various programs and projects,” said Barbara McCloskey, membership program manager. Founded in 1981, The Conservancy is dedicated to preserving and protecting natural lands and water resources in New Jersey. Already, it has helped preserve over 16,000 acres and has helped towns secure $182 million in state, county and federal grants for their land conservation projects. The organization has worked with more than 76 municipalities in 13 counties, benefiting millions of residents throughout the state. Other programs include; Partners for Parks, a national award winning stewardship program that mobilizes teams of volunteers from area corporations and civic groups to work on one-day projects to help beautify and maintain public parks and open space lands; and Partners for Greener Communities, a program that offers a variety of services to communities to help them preserve land.
