SPARTA-This year's Festival of Trees, sponsored by the GFWC Junior Woman's Club of Sparta, will be held Nov. 18 - 19 at the Lake Mohawk Golf Club. Proceeds will benefit Cherished Creations, whose mission is to create better lives for seriously ill children, and the Sussex County Chapter of the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. The Friday night gala will be from 7:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. A "Santa breakfast" will be held Saturday morning, Nov. 19, and there will be ongoing entertainment throughout the weekend. For tickets to the gala or breakfast, or for information on sponsorship opportunities, call 973-300-7309. The club will again sponsor the Holiday Wish Tree at the Sparta Public Library from Nov. 21 through Dec. 14. For over 20 years, the wish tree has been making holidays happier for Sussex County children. The club presents the tree to the community as a vehicle through which gifts can be brought to children in need. The second annual Casino Night sponsored by the club will take place from 6:30 to 11 p.m. on Feb. 18, 2006, at Perona Farms in Andover. Advance tickets will be on sale and a portion of the proceeds will go to Project Self Sufficiency, which helps low-income single parents, teen parents and displaced homemakers to achieve economic self-sufficiency and to empower them to improve their lives and the lives of their children. For information on sponsorship opportunities for all club events, call 973-300-7309.
