Jack Padalino, president emeritus of Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) and Brandwein Institute in Milford has been leading a series of “Search for Eagles,” birding trips around the region this winter. Two more outings are scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 20, and Sunday, Feb. 28. To join in a search for eagles field trip, call 570-296-6752 and let them know which date you will be attending. Weather permitting, meet 8 a.m. at the PEEC parking lot or at 10 a.m. at the Historic Callahan House, at 101 US Route 209, mile marker 21, south of Milford. Dress warmly, bring binoculars, field guides, and a lunch. There is no charge. Eagle observation data that we collect is shared with members of the Sussex County Bird Club, Eagle Institute, and Hawk Migration Association of North America HMANA. An Eagle identification field guide and a “Search for Eagles” hand-out will be provided by the Paul F-Brandwein Institute.
