Jefferson resident and sports league are both big winners

Lisa Curran of Lake Hopatcong won a 2005 Chrysler Sebring Convertible in a drawing held July 2 by the Jefferson Sports League. Currant's two children take part in the league's basketball program and the Lake Hopatcong Little League. Her husband coaches basketball for the JSL. "I am thrilled and shocked that I won. I honestly didn't believe it at first. But as word got around and people started to congratulate me, I was overwhelmed," Said Currant. "The JSL is a great organization. My kids love playing the sports and the coaches are great. Thank you, Thank you." More than $21,000 was raised from ticket sales. The money will be used for capital improvements to the in-town basketball, bowling, baseball and softball programs offered by the Jefferson Sports League. The automobile raffled was donated by the Franklin Sussex Auto Mall on Route 23 in Sussex.
