Hospital's gone, housing to follow

FRANKLIN—Now that the top of Hospital Road consists of a large, empty space, the housing everyone expects to follow is a certainty. However, no one is really sure just what kind of housing it will be. St. Clare's Heath Systems, the property owner that demolished the 97-year-old Franklin Hospital last week, is expected to consummate its sale to Sun Brite Investments soon, perhaps by later this month, according to one other published report. Wayne-based Jerry Nardella, the developer who heads Sun Brite, hasn't said exactly what his plans will be, but he has three options or more, local planning officals say. Because the property's density was changed to allow as many as six residential units per acre, Nardella could build detached single-family homes, apartments or attached single homes, otherwise known as condominiums or townhouses, explained Jim Kilduff, Franklin's director of planning and community development.
