Home-buying seminar for Spanish speakers

    Dover — A Spanish-language seminar, Paso a Paso: al Sueno Americano, sponsored by the Housing Partnership, a United Way Agency, will be held on Thursday, Feb. 11 and 18 from 5:45 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., at the Partnership offices at 2 East Blackwell St., in Dover. The two-evening seminar focuses on working households who would like to learn all the steps in the home buying process — with no sales pressure. Paso a Paso features budgeting, credit, the mortgage application process, working with a realtor and the role of the attorney, plus many more hints on getting started. Volunteer presenters include representatives from one the Housing Partnership’s member banks, a realtor, an attorney from the Morris County Bar Association and an inspector. Information on mortgage products for first-time home buyers from the Housing Partnership’s 18 member lenders, as well as matched savings clubs and down payment assistance will be available for participants. There is a non- refundable registration fee of $35, which includes the text book.
