Holocaust program at Wallkill Valley High
Hardyston On Wednesday, April 21, the Social Studies Department of Wallkill Valley Regional High School will sponsor a program entitled “Survivors Speak.” The program will bring to the school two speakers who will give first-hand accounts of their experiences during the Holocaust. Speakers are chosen for the wide diversity of their experiences in recognition that the Holocaust as an event was more than Auschwitz, and can include survivors, camp liberators, Jews in hiding and children of survivors. They are trained to speak to groups of all ages. This is a unique opportunity to hear first-hand testimony to important historical events, as each year more eyewitnesses are lost as they age. Due to the serious nature and mature content the program is intended for those in seventh grade and above. The program will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium. It is presented by the MetroWest Holocaust Council of Whippany. For additional information call 973-827-4100.
