Heritage Council is seeking artists

    Sussex — The Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council and Sussex County Community College is seeking artists, age 18 and older, whose work is focused primarily on the Old Mine Road and surrounding areas, for the upcoming Old Mine Road Folk Life Festival art exhibit. All mediums will be accepted and is on a first come, first serve basis. Each artist may submit up to three pieces not exceeding 36 inches. Art work should be dropped off to the college no later than Monday, Sept. 28 by 4 p.m. Along with the artwork please include artwork title, artist’s name, medium and value and artist head shot and brief artist statement. These items will be placed into a book for patrons to read. Artists can call to arrange drop off times: Bryan 973-300-2360 and or Judy 973-300-2755. Art should be delivered to Bryan or Judy at the college’s Performing Arts Center. Work will be hung at the Performing Arts Center on Sept. 29 in time for the Songs of Old Mine Road concert on Oct. 3 at 8 p.m. The show will be on view until Oct. 10 along with photos by Old Mine Road photographer Don Gerber. Jurying will take place before the concert by the Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council, with a first place winner and the three remaining honorable mentions selected.
