Helping stop hunger
| 22 Feb 2012 | 08:30
Barbara Schneider, a local coordinator for the Post Office’s Stamp Out Hunger campaign, backs up her mail truck at the Christ Community Church food pantry. On Saturday, with the help of the various Highland Lakes communities, local postal workers delivered at least 2,600 pounds of food and supplies to the pantry. In addition to Schneider, Post Office volunteers included Claire Crum, Ted Gemon, Dave Levine, Jen Mullane, Harry Pederson, Maria Roesch, Mark Westerfield, and Bruce Young. Church volunteers included Hal and Janice Schneider, Pastor Roger Spence, and Terri Van Emburgh. Those in need should call the church at 764-6877.
