Aug. 4 Hamburg Police arrested James R. Brown, 24, of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Joshua J. Swaney, 19, of Stockton, Kan. Both were trespassing on the private property of Heritage Lakes and soliciting without a permit. The men were walking door to door attempting to sell magazine subscriptions. Both were released on their own recognizance pending a court appearance in the Hamburg Municipal Court on Sept. 17. Hamburg Police remind borough residents that the borough prohibits solicitation or peddling without a permit and encourages residents to call the police if anyone attempts to sell them anything at their doors.
