    Head-on crash leads to DWI arrest and multiple charges On Saturday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m., Hamburg Police investigated a head-on crash that occurred on Route 23 at the intersection of Route 94. Investigation revealed that Michael F. Mulligan, 44, of Vernon, who was driving a 1991 Chevy pickup truck, made a left turn from Route 23 south onto Route 94 north, into the path of a 2005 Dodge Neon that was being operated by John F, Crawn III, 37, of Sussex. Crawn’s passenger, Carla A. Crawn, 33, was injured in the crash, along with Mulligan. Both were transported to St. Clare’s Hospital in Sussex by Hamburg and Franklin EMS. Both parties were treated and released. Mulligan was arrested for driving while intoxicated, and has been charged with the following: driving while intoxicated, DWI in a school zone, DWI with a minor passenger, driving while suspended, unlicensed driver, expired touring privileges, failure to exhibit documents, reckless driving, careless driving, failure to keep right, failure to yield at an intersection, failure to inspect and obstructed view. He was released from custody pending an appearance in the Hamburg Municipal Court. Patrolman Andrew Chase investigated the incident, and was assisted by Patrolman David McNulty.
