HAMBURG POLICE
July 15 Roy W. Teague, 45, of Hoptacong, was arrested for harassment after it was learned that he send a card which contained letters and drawings that contained obscene and sexually explicit content to the victim, who resides in Hamburg. Teague was charged with fourth-degree harassment and is scheduled to appear in Sussex County Superior Court. He was lodged in the Sussex County Jail in default of $2,500 bail, along with a separate warrant for violation of probation. Sgt. Erik Aronson investigated the incident. July 16 Following up on a 5:34 p.m. report of an erratic driver, Hamburg Police stopped a 2007 Ford Edge driven by Carlos M. Ortiz, 57, of Wantage on Route 23. Police say he was also seen using his cell phone and having difficulty maintaining his lane. Ortiz was arrested after a roadside investigation, for driving while intoxicated and his vehicle was impounded under the provisions of “John’s Law.” He was charged wit DWI, DWI in a school zone, use of a cell phone while driving and failure to maintain a lane. He was released from custody pending an appearance in the Hamburg Municipal Court on Aug. 4. The incident was investigated by Sgt. Erik Aronson, who was assisted by Patrolman Andrew Chase.
