Group reading and group fun

Kindergarten, first-graders and Vernon Senior Center members discovered that they have a lot in common on April 24 at the NJ After 3 KEEP program at Walnut Ridge Primary School. They shared their love of learning and read to the seniors from books they had written and illustrated. The children also performed a group magic trick. The gathering was part of KEEP’s participation in Global Youth Service Day, where children come together to focus the world’s attention on what young people are contributing through community service projects like this one. The day is celebrated in over 100 countries worldwide.
