Girl Scouts help animals

Vernon Girl Scout Troop 589 recently raised money to purchase over 100 cans of cat and dog food for Father John’s Animal House in Lafayette. They also collected and donated detergents, bedding, litter and towels. Drawing on inspiration from their trip, the Scouts have agreed to continue raising money and collecting items the shelter needs and some of the girls are also volunteering to help with socializing and grooming the cats in their spare time.
