Ginnie's House gives thanks
On Tuesday evening, Dec. 15, Ginnie’s House, the Sussex County Children’s Advocacy Center, held its 12th annual children’s holiday party. Over 150 people attended the event that was held at the First Presbyterian Church in Newton. A wonderful buffet dinner with dessert and hot chocolate was prepared by the Sussex County Technical School’s culinary art’s program. A DJ provided the holiday music while the children participated in arts & crafts as Santa was there handing out gifts to all those who attended the event. Many thanks go out to all the individuals and organizations that made donations of gifts for the holiday party. A special thank you goes out to the Telecom Pioneers NJ Chapter 139 for their generous cash donation that helped cover the cost of the event. Also, thanks goes out to First Energy in Newton and Specialty Surgical Center in Sparta who donated presents and gift cards and to the ladies of Bristol Glenn who donated hand-made sock monkey dolls that the children enjoyed. If not for the year long and on-going support and hard work from the Ginnie’s House staff, volunteers and supporters of our mission, this event would not be possible. So on behalf of children and their families, we thank you all for your generosity in contributing to this very special and fun event. Scott MacLean, director Ginnie’s House
