Get ready for the season

Vernon — Mountain Creek South was set to open Wednesday, Dec. 16, as the ski lift starts spinning at noon. “Our snowmakers worked around the clock to lay down a solid base despite Mother Nature’s best efforts to sink us,” reports Halley O’Brien, of Mountain Creek. “We’ll have a top to bottom terrain park thanks to the efforts of terrain park manager Marc Tremain and his park crew. They’ve been working around the clock building an assortment of small to medium jibs and hits for opening day.” Vernon peak will open Saturday, Dec. 19 at 9 a.m. All-access season pass holders can arrive at 8 a.m. Until then, O’Brien says, “our grooming fleet will be out in numbers laying down the Jersey corduroy we all know and love.” Tubing at the park opens early this year, with hours beginning Friday, from 5 to 8 p.m. Check mountaincreek.com for updates.
