    Oct. 10 At approximately 11:50 p.m. Franklin Police responded to an apartment on Main Street for the report of a hang-up 9-1-1 call. Investigation resulted in the arrest of 30-year-old Kenneth E. Slater of Franklin, for possessing over 30 Alprazolam tablets (generic for Xanax) that he admittedly stole from another person. Slater was charged with third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance and third-degree theft of a controlled dangerous substance. He was subsequently turned over to the Susses County Sheriffs Department in lieu of $15,000 bail with no 10-percent option. Officer Ryan Churchwell of the Franklin Police investigated.
