    On July 3, at approximately 6:42 p.m. Franklin Police responded to a two-car motor vehicle accident on Franklin Avenue near the Franklin Pond. Further investigation resulted in the arrest of 38-year-old Richard J. Santora of Dalton, Pa., for Driving While Intoxicated. Santora was subsequently issued summonses for driving while intoxicated and careless driving, before being released to a family member pending a Franklin Borough Municipal Court date. Patrolman Ryan Churchwell investigated. On July 3, at approximately 6:35 p.m., Franklin Police responded to a residence on Davis Road for a domestic dispute. Investigation resulted in the arrest of 48-year-old Victor Fuentes of Franklin for criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. While police attempted to arrest him, he resisted arrest and kicked Sgt. Jeffrey Smith. After being detained and arriving at the Franklin Police station, Fuentes assaulted Patrolman Ryan Churchwell and Lt. Eugene Mclnerney, while they attempted to subdue him. Fuentes was charged with three counts of fourth-degree aggravated assault on a police officer, fourth-degree resisting arrest, two counts of third-degree terroristic threats, criminal mischief and two counts of disorderly conduct. Fuentes was subsequently lodged in the Sussex County Jail in lieu of $40,000 bail with no 10 percent option. On July 4, at approximately 8:15 p.m., Franklin Police responded to the area of County Route 631 (Franklin Avenue) near Corkhill Road for the report of a motorcyclist down after he failed to negotiate a sharp curve. Upon arrival, police made contact with the operator, 19-year-old Marc B. Weintraub of Sparta, who severely injured both of his legs. The New Jersey State Police Medivac subsequently flew Weintraub to the Morristown Trauma Center. The Wallkill Valley First Aid Squad and Saint Clare’s Medic Unit assisted on scene. Patrolman Ryan Churchwell and Sgt. Jeffrey Smith investigated.
