Flu shots offered at area ShopRites

    Looking for a place to get your flu shot? These area ShopRite locations will offer them at the following dates and times: ShopRite of Franklin, 270 Route 23, Franklin: Thursday, Oct. 1: 4 to 8 p.m.; and Wednesday, Oct. 28: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. ShopRite of Byram, 90-80 Route 206 N., Stanhope: Friday, Oct. 9: 4 to 8 p.m.; and Wednesday, Oct. 21: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. ShopRite of Newton, 127 Water St./Route 206 N., Newton: Wednesday, Oct. 14: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Friday, Oct. 30: 4 to 8 p.m. Flu shots are $30; and $45 for pneumonia. No appointment is necessary. Cash or check will be accepted. For Medicare B participants: the nurse will ask the customer for his/her Medicare card. The card must indicate “Medical Insurance.” If it does not, the customer will be charged for the shots. All individuals with Medicare Part B as their primary medical insurance will receive a flu shot with no co-pay. Medicare will also pay for them to receive a pneumonia shot with no co-pay if they have never received one before, or have not received a pneumonia vaccination with the last five years. Residents under the age of 18, pregnant or who have an active infection should not receive a flu shot.
