First Greenwood Lake Air Show is ready to entertain crowds

Over 20,000 expected to attend West Milford Greenwood Lake Airport will hold its first air show, which is planned to become an annual event, with an expected turnout of over 20,000 attendees, on Sept. 26 and 27 beginning at 12 noon.i Organizers said this is the largest event seen in the Town of West Milford and the nearby region in quite sometime. Professional air show performers will be in attendance, many of whom have traveled across the country to attend the event. The air show is two shows in one, said organizers. In addition to the air show, there will also be a military World War II reenactment with both Allied and German troops camping on the field, all historically accurate down to the last detail. This air show promises to kick off the start of a new local tourist attraction, said event planners. In May, Greenwood Lake Airport held a successful open house to test the public reaction, with over 4,000 people attending. At the time there were only a few static displays, some helicopter rides, and some aerobatic practice overhead. For more information, contact Stephen Pavlisko at the airport at 973-728-7721.
