Fine art students show their work at SCCC
Sussex County Community College will celebrate its 18th Annual Student Art Exhibition through June 4. Each year a jury comprised of SCCC’s Fine Arts’ faculty and students select over 100 examples of student artwork. The annual exhibition has become a tradition at the college and celebrates the combined efforts of students and faculty in the fine arts program. Julie McWilliams, academic coordinator, fine arts degree program, and chair of the fine arts and humanities department, said, “Although the show requires a great deal of planning, it is always an interesting and eclectic exhibition. It is important for all artists to see their efforts displayed in a professional gallery setting and to compare their ideas and work with their peers.” Students at SCCC work in a wide range of media, including painting, drawing, photography, design, sculpture and ceramics.
