Farm starts new volunteer program

Sunset View Farm in Andover Township has begun a new volunteer program. Anyone who participates in a 25-hour volunteer commitment between April and November can use a garden plot for free, a $400 value, and gets free admission to any of their workshops, including step-by-step gardening workshops as well as the “Back to Basics” series of workshops. Volunteers will help with animal tending, gardening, weeding, fencing, repairs, and more on a 20-acre farm with a community supported garden. A free garden plot can yield enough produce for a family of five for the growing season. Volunteers will be taught how to freeze, dry and can the harvest as well.
