Family grateful to karate students

We wanted to take an opportunity to thank Mike and Barbara Pace of Pace Karate in Vernon for running a very successful Kick-a-thon to raise funds to help offset medical expenses for our daughter, Micayla Wynn, who was diagnosed with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia in August of 2009. We are forever indebted to Pace Karate for taking the time to help us in this very trying time of our lives. We recognize the amount of time that no doubt went into the organization and the carrying out of this event, and for this we will be forever grateful. The funds will be used to offset un-reimbursed medical expenses and for the ongoing care of Micayla, a ninth-grade student at Vernon Township High School. We would also like to thank all of the Pace Karate students who went out of their way to ask people to pledge their donations based on the number of kicks each student was able to perform, and to those who donated to these children who were involved in the Kick-a-thon. We continue to be humbled by the generosity of the people around us, many who are probably going through some difficult times of their own. We look forward to the day when there is a cure for Micayla’s disease, and for the day when we can return the generosity of those whose donations we have received. Peter Wynn and Carol Wright Vernon
