Dinner benefits bereaved family

    FRANKLIN — A special pasta dinner is scheduled for Saturday, March 21 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church on Main Street, to help raise funds for the family of Steven VanDyk, who died suddenly on Jan. 23, at age 39. VanDyk, who was working two jobs at the time of his passing and taught Sunday school, had no health or life insurance. His wife Rachel, daughters Emily, Caitlin and Chelsea will be the recipients of the proceeds from Saturday evening’s dinner. “Steven was a wonderful man,” said church pastor Rhonda Myers. She called him, “a committed member of the church and a very fine Sunday school teacher. We will miss him greatly.” Other donations are also being accepted for the VanDyk family fund.
