Dancers soar at competition

Hamburg — The Dance Expression Dance Company performed for the Dancers Inc. National Dance and Talent Competition recently held in Hershey, Pa. and brought home many awards. “Ecstasy,” the production number choreographed by Ellen McGovern, received the highest score awarded by Dancers Inc., a High Gold Award. High Gold Awards were also presented for “Kulala”, “Children of Kosovo,” and “Bathtime”. A High Gold Award, and the 5th Highest Score Overall for a Senior Soloist was presented to Megan Murdock of Hardyston, for her modern solo “Sonatina for Anna” and the High Gold Award was also presented to senior soloist LeighAnn Lorenzetti of Hardyston, for “This Little Bird.” Dance Expression dancers also earned over 15 Gold Awards at the national event. The dancers included: Adrianna Velez, Deena Spaner, Rachel Nass, Megan Murdock, LeighAnn Lorenzetti, Brittany Pakestein, Brianna Smith, Renea Rossi, Rebecca Beltramine, Samantha Lorenzetti, Stephanie Montemurro, Erin Garrity, Morgan Tarantino, Richelle Garrido-Chase, Gina McGuire, Lauralee Montemurro, Cassidy Alesso, Payden Dorney, Kristina Henderson, Jillian Henderson, Sarah Meyer, Taylor Wade, Maria Iacopelli, Kathleen Murray and Sarah Veasey.
