June 1 Craig Seidenberg, age 21, of Wantage, was sentenced to two years probation, five days S.L.A.P., $1,205 in fines, a substance abuse evaluation and treatment, and a six-month loss of driver’s license. He pled guilty on April 9 to the third degree crime of possession of cocaine. He admitted to possessing a small amount of cocaine following a motor veliicle stop by Sussex County Sheriffs Sergeant John Gray June 4 Alexander Kaiser, age 23, of Hopatcong, entered a guilty plea to an accusation charging him with third degree aggravated assault on Ptl. Meghan McCluskey. Kaiser also entered guilty pleas to the disorderly persons offenses of hindering his own apprehension and simple assault. Kaiser admitted to the court that on or about April 5, he had assaulted an adult female during a domestic violence incident. As a result of the simple assault charge filed against Kaiser, members of the Hopatcong Police Department went to Kaiser’s residence in order to arrest him for the simple assault charge. Upon arrival, Kaiser gave a false name to the police, thus hindering his own apprehension. Kaiser then engaged in assault Ptl. McCluskey when the officer was attempting to place Kaiser under arrest. Barth Stewart, age 52, of Sandyston, entered a guilty plea to an accusation charging him with one count of a fourth degree charge for a Megan’s Law violation for failure to notify law enforcement that he had moved to a new address. Under the provisions of Megan’s Law, Stewart was required to notify the local police that he was moving to a new address ten days prior to his actual move. Stewart admitted to the court that between April 4-May 3 he had failed to notify the State Police that he was moving to a new address in Sandyston. The case was investigated by Trooper Kerrick of the State Police. Stewart is scheduled to be sentenced y on Aug. 3. Syed Ali, age 19, of Hamburg, pled guilty to three counts of the third degree crime of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance while within 1,000 feet of a school. He is scheduled for sentencing on Aug. 3. He admitted that on Dec. 21, 2006 and Jan. 10, 2007, he distributed marijuana to an undercover detective assigned to the Sussex County Narcotics Task Force. He also admitted that he distributed cocaine to the same detective on Jan. 16. All of the distributions occurred within 1,000 feet of the Hamburg Elementary School Syed Muhamed Ali, age 18, of Vernon, pled guilty lo the third degree crime of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance within 1,000 feet of a school. He is scheduled for sentencing on Aug. 3. He admitted to distributing a small amount of marijuana to a detective assigned to the Sussex County Narcotics Task Force in Hamburg on Dec. 27, 2006 and the distribution occurred within 1,000 feet of the Hamburg Elementary School. Jay Meyerhoff, age 25, of Milford, Pa., pled guilty to the third degree crime of accomplice liability for aiding another to possess heroin. He is scheduled for sentencing on Aug. 3. He admitted that on April 13 in Sparta, he drove another individual to obtain heroin. The matter was investigated by Sparta Police Officer Robert Fraser. June 5 Richard V. Corby, Jr., age 37, of Netcong, was sentenced to three years probation. He was ordered to serve 364 days in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility and must submit to a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations made. He must pay total fines and penalties of $155 and submit a DNA sample at his expense. He pled guilty on May 7 to burglary, a third degree crime. On Feb. 19 in Stanhope, Corby, in a highly intoxicated state, Corby knocked on the door of a residence asking the homeowner for a ride. When the homeowner refused, he entered the victim’s vehicle, which was parked in the driveway of the home. June 7 Brando Muley, age 24, of Vernon, pled guilty to the second degree crime of possession of a firearm while committing a drug distribution offense and the third degree crime of uttering a forged document, He is scheduled for sentencing on Aug. 3. He admitted to that on March 30, he possessed a semi-automatic handgun while at the same time possessing cocaine that be intended to distribute, and that he also distributed counterfeit U. S. currency. June 8 Brian Eng. age 28, of East Stroudsburg, Pa., was sentenced to two years probation, outpatient substance abuse treatment, eight days credit for time served in jail and $1,755 in monetary fines. He pled guilty on March 12 to the third degree crime of possession of cocaine and to the disorderly persons offense of possession of marijuana. He admitted lo possessing several grams of cocaine and less than one ounce of marijuana following a motor vehicle stop by Hopatcong Police Officer David Kraus on Dec. 9, 2006. Jeffrey Fleece, age 27, of Sussex, was sentenced to three years probation, 120 days county jail, a substance abuse evaluation and treatment, six month loss of driver’s license and $2,369 in monetary penalties. He pled guilty on Feb. 26 to the third degree crime of possession of heroin, driving while intoxicated and driving while suspended. He admitted to possessing heroin on December 28, 2006 in Franklin and that he was under the influence of alcohol and had no driver’s license at the time he was stopped by Franklin Police Officer Leo Kinney. Aaron M. Brown, age 19, of Wantage, was sentenced to 90 days in the Sussex County Jail and two years probation. In addition, Brown must pay restitution in the amount of $1,512. He pled guilty on Feb. 20, to Burglary and Theft, both third degree crimes. He admitted to breaking into a home in the Borough of Sussex with two juveniles and stealing $1,500 worth of personal property. June 11 Matthew J. Gailhums, age 19, of Stanhope, pled guilty to Receiving Stolen Property, a third degree crime. Sentencing is scheduled for July 27. Gailhums admitted to receiving stolen jewelry belonging to Fatmeh Yaghnam, having a value of approximately $7,000. Ryan Barrett, age 19, of Hamburg, pled guilty to the third degree crime of possession of heroin and to the fourth degree crime of possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute. He is scheduled for sentencing on July 27. He admitted to possessing and using heroin and also possessing less than one ounce of marijuana with the intent to distribute it to others on July 3, 2006 in Hamburg. The matter was investigated by Hamburg Police Detective Paul DeMott. Patrick Reilly, age 29, of Hamburg, pled guilty to the third degree crime of possession of heroin and motor vehicle tickets for driving while intoxicated and driving while suspended. He is scheduled for sentencing on July 23. He admitted driving another individual to Newark in order to obtain heroin. The matter was investigated by Sparta Police Officer Joseph Antonello on April 3. Daniel Danneufelser, age 32, of Greentown, Pa., pled guilty to the third degree crime of possession of heroin, the fourth degree crime of tampering with evidence and motor vehicle tickets for fictitious plates, inoperable lights and driving without a license. He is scheduled for sentencing on July 20. He admitted to possessing a bag of heroin and throwing away a small bag of marijuana following a motor vehicle stop by Sparta Police Officer Frank Schomp on April 21, 2006. Kelly Cogswell, age 30, of Wharton, pled guilty to Theft, a third degree crime, and Contempt, a fourth degree crime. Sentencing is scheduled for July 27. In 2005, Kelly Cogswell befriended William Frey, Sr., who was roughly 50 years her senior. Eventually Cogswell moved in with the elderly victim, ostensibly to care for him. Over a period of time, however, Cogswell acquired money and other property belonging to Frey. Shortly thereafter, Frey’s son was appointed guardian of the victim’s estate and Cogswell was ordered to return the property back to the estate. She was indicted after she failed to return the property. Scott R. Sissman, age 26, of Lake Hopatcong, pled guilty to Possession of False Documents, a third degree crime. Sentencing is scheduled for July 2007. In January of 2005, Sissman obtained a New Jersey driver’s license in a friend’s name. Sissman used the friend’s six-point identification documents to obtain the license. Shortly thereafter, the MVC’s facial recognition program determined that the license issued in the friend’s name was really issued to Sissman. Joseph C. Kulesa, III, age 22, of Newton, pled guilty to burglary, theft and forgery, all third degree crimes, and to a second charge of forgery, a 4lh degree crime. Sentencing is scheduled for July 6. Between Feb. 27, 2006 and Nov. 24, 2006, he took personal checks, a business checking card and credit cards belonging to his father, cashed the checks and used the credit cards to make purchases. June 12 Robert F. Roe, age 33, of Newton, pled guilty to theft, a fourth degree crime, Sentencing is scheduled for July 27. On April 5, 2006, Roe took several model toy trains belonging to his stepfather, which he later sold to a toy store in Westfield. Tomasz Przybojewski, age 22, of Franklin, was sentenced to three years probation, must undergo anger management counseling, have a TASC evaluation and follow all recommendations, 50 hours of community service, submit a DNA sample and pay fines and costs in the amount of $155. During the evening of Aug. 13, 2006, into the early morning hours of Aug. 14, while caring fora two-month-old child, defendant dropped the child into her crib, which caused internal injuries including a subdural hematoma. June 14 Casey Powers, age 23, of Green Township, pled guilty to theft, a third degree crime. Sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 3. He stole jewelry from Careen McDonald valued at approximately $9,900. Israel Garcia, age 25, of Andover, pled guilty to two counts of Assault by Auto within 1,000 feet of a school, a second degree crime, and Possession of False Identification, a fourth degree crime. Sentencing is scheduled for July 26. On Dec. 12, 2006, the defendant’s Isuzu Rodeo crossed the double yellow lines on Route 94 and collided with a Pontiac Sunfire. Two victims in the Sunfire sustained serious injury requiring helicopter transport to Morristown Memorial Hospital. The Sparta Police Department investigated the crash, and it was determined that the defendant was driving while intoxicated. His blood alcohol concentration was .12. The defendant did not have a valid driver’s license, but did possess a fictitious resident alien card. As a result of his guilty pleas, the defendant will be exposed to a ten year state prison sentence. June 15 Diane Curto, age 40, of Sussex, was sentenced to two years probation, 50 hours community service and restitution. She pled guilty on April 19, to Theft by Unlawful Taking, a third degree crime. Curto, while an employee of a cleaning service, electronically wired monies from the cleaning service business account into her own personal account without authorization.
