    March 9 Roy Teague, age 42, of Sussex, was sentenced to serve one year probation. As a condition of defendant’s probation Teague was sentenced to serve 167 days in the Sussex County Jail. He pled guilty on Jan. 22 to one count of violating his Community Supervision for Life and one count of failure to comply with Megan’s Law, both fourth degree crimes. Teague, a previously convicted sex offender, was ordered by the court to comply with the terms of Community Supervision for Life and Megan’s Law. On Jan. 22, Teague admitted to the court that on or about July 2006, he failed to notify the Andover Township Police Department that he had moved to a new address in Andover Township. He also admitted that on or about June 29, 2006 he had failed to obtain approval from his Parole Officer for any change in his address. March 12 Evan Schwartz, age 36, of Hopatcong, pled guilty to Joyriding, a fourth degree crime. Sentencing is scheduled for May 4. Richard Sweller, age 33, of Montague, entered a guilty plea to an accusation charging him with two counts of third degree terroristic threats, and one count of obtaining a prescription drug by fraud, a fourth degree offense. Sweller admitted to the court that on or about Dec. 10, 2006, he had threatened to assault an adult female and a minor child during a domestic violence dispute. He also admitted that on or about Jan. 3, he attempted to obtain Percocet with a prescription that he had altered. Sweller is scheduled to be sentenced on May 4. Eric Huapaya, age 39, of Hopatcong, pled guilty to a third degree crime of Possession of cocaine. Sentencing is scheduled for May 4. He admitted to possessing a small amount of cocaine that was discovered during a brief investigation by Hopatcong Police Officer David Krause on Dec. 22, 2006. Jared Stun, age 28, of Hasbrouck Heights, pled guilty to the third degree crime, Possession of cocaine, Driving while Intoxicated and Driving while Suspended. Sentencing is scheduled for May 4. He admitted that on Jan. 1, 2006, he possessed a trace amount of cocaine, was intoxicated while operating a motor vehicle which was stopped by Sparta Police Officer Joseph Pensado and that his driving privileges have been suspended. Kurt Tandberg, age 24, of Vemon, pled guilty to a third degree crime of Absconding from Parole. Sentencing is scheduled for May 4. He admitted to leaving the State of New Jersey while he was in the Intensive Supervision Program in order to avoid being supervised. Brian Eng, age 26, of East Stroudsburg, Pa., pled guilty to a third degree crime of Possession of cocaine and a disorderly persons offense of Possession of marijuana. Sentencing is scheduled for May 4. He admitted to possessing several grams of cocaine and a little less than one ounce of marijuana following a motor vehicle stop by Hopatcong Police Officer David Krause on Dec. 9, 2006. An indictment charges Israel Garcia, age 25, of Andover, with two Counts of Aggravated Assault within a school zone, second degree crimes, two Counts of Aggravated Assault, second degree crimes, two Counts of Driving While Suspended causing serious bodily injury, fourth degree crimes and Possession of fraudulent documents, a fourth degree crime. The case was investigated by Ptl. Richard Smith of the Sparta Police Department. A Grand Jury indictment is a charge only. The defendant is presumed innocent until guilt may be proved at a jury trial. March 13 An indictment charges Edwin J. Weber IV, age 19, of Franklin with Credit Card Theft and Theft, both third degree crimes. The case was investigated by Det. Sgt. Thomas Kulsar of the Franklin Police Department. The case was presented to the Grand Jury by Assistant Prosecutor Gregory R. Mueller. Arraignment before the Superior Court in Newton will be within the next 6 weeks. A Grand Jury indictment is a charge only. The defendant is presumed innocent until guilt may be proved at a jury trial An indictment charges Erica L. Watkins, age 26, of Hamburg, with Interference with Custody, a second degree crime, and Contempt, a fourth degree crime. The case was investigated by Det. Robert Zicarelli of the Hardyston Police Department A second indictment charges Watkins with Theft, a third degree crime. The case was investigated by Det. The defendant is presumed innocent until guilt may be proved at a jury trial Daniel Haubrich, age 19, of Sussex pled guilty to two counts of criminal mischief, both 3rd degree crimes. Sentencing is scheduled for May 11. On Jan. 21, 2005 in Sussex Borough, Haubrich and a co-defendant got into an altercation with a man sitting in his vehicle in a parking lot. They assaulted the victim and kicked the vehicle causing over $2,600 in damage. Both defendants were highly intoxicated at the time. On Sept. 8, 2006, in Sussex Borough, Haubrich and another co-defendant got Into a fight with another person and damaged the victim’s vehicle; that damage estimate was approximately $4,000. March 15 William Bartell, age 22, of Sparta, pled guilty to a third degree crime, Possession of Heroin. Sentencing is scheduled for April 16. He admitted to possessing two bags of heioin that were found in his wallet following an arrest on outstanding bench warrant by Sparta Police Officer McCanick. March 15 A juvenile pled guilty to third degree eluding and a local ordinance of unlawful use of a motorized sport bike. He was adjudicated a juvenile delinquent by the court. The juvenile, age 16, of Sussex, was sentenced to 12 months probation on condition that he serve 14 days detention (five days suspended). Other conditions of probation are a six month loss of driver’s license, he must complete 40 hours of community service, follow all home and school rules, submit a DNA sample, write a letter of apology and pay court fines totaling $329. While operating an all-terrain vehicle on a public roadway, the juvenile failed to stop when signaled by police and continued to operate vehicle and tried to avoid being apprehended. A juvenile pled guilty to third degree False Public Alarm. He was adjudicated a juvenile delinquent by the court. The juvenile, age 17, of Hopatcong, was sentenced to 12 months probation on condition that he complete 40 hours of community service, have no contact with co-defendants, follow all home and school rules, write a letter of apology, submit a DNA sample, undergo random drug testing, tour the county jail and pay court fees of $45. The juvenile, along with another juvenile, wrote a note regarding an impending bombing in the school and then placed the note in the boys’ locker room. Two juveniles pled guilty on March 15, to third degree Burglary. They were adjudicated juvenile delinquent by the court. The juveniles, both age 16, of Franklin and Hamburg, were sentenced to 18 months probation on condition that they serve 10 days in the Juvenile Detention Center. They must also complete 75 hours of community service, have no contact with the victim or each other, submit a DNA sample, testify truthfully against co-defendants, undergo random drug testing, tour the county jail, loss of driver’s license for 90 days and pay fines of $45. In February the two juveniles, along with other co-defendants, broke into the victim’s home, taking a laptop computer, a Nintendo Wii system and jewelry, all valued at over $36,000. March 16 Edward Toliver, age 23, of West Orange, was sentenced to three years in state prison, a six month loss of driver’s license and $3,380 in fines. He pled guilty on Jan. 16 to the third degree crime of distribution of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school and to the second degree crime of distribution of cocaine within 500 feet of a park. He admitted that on Oct. 2, 2006, in a room at the Lakeside Motel in Hopatcong, he distributed cocaine to an individual cooperating with the Sussex County Narcotics Task Force. The motel is located within 1,000 feet of Hopatcong High School and within 500 feet of the Hopatcong Civic Center. Miguel Enchautegui, age 33, of Irvington, was sentenced to two years probation, 150 days in the county jail, $3,480 in restitution and $280 in fines. He pled guilty to two counts of conspiracy to commit third degree theft on Jan. 23. On Oct. 7 and Nov. 8, he and two co-defendants purchased building supplies from Kuiken Brothers Building Supply stores in Ogdensburg and Wantage using credit card information that was fraudulently obtained, Katie Pelton, age 19, of Middletown, N.Y., was sentenced to two years probation, 42 days time served in the county jail, $1,294 in fines and a six month loss of driver’s license. She pled guilty on Jan. 29 to third degree possession of heroin and a motor vehicle ticket for failure to maintain lamps. She admitted to possessing two bags of heroin after she was stopped for a motor vehicle violation on May 7, 2006 by Sparta. Police Officer Adam Carbery. Gregory Bracco, age 20, of Hopalcong, pled guilty to the third degree crime of accomplice liability to possess heroin. He is scheduled for sentencing on April 13. He admitted helping another individual travel to Newark and back for the purpose of obtaining heroin on June 28, 2006 in Hopatcong. March 19 Patrick D. Homan, age 19, of Hopatcong, pled guilty to Burglary, a third degree crime, Theft, a third degree crime and Possession of Heroin, a third degree crime. Sentencing is scheduled for May 18.
