Newton — The Clerk’s Office has installed the first ImageSync system in New Jersey, according to Erma Gormley, Sussex County Clerk. ImageSync, a Web-based index management system developed by Foveonics Imaging Technologies, is specifically designed for quick and easy access to historical indexes and instruments. The new system complements the electronic land records management system already in place at the Clerk’s Office, which allows for electronic-based record searches back to 1954. Now, with ImageSync, the public can electronically search deed and mortgage records from 1900 to present and can view an electronic index of records dating from as early as 1794. The new stand-alone system operates similarly to the Clerk’s existing land records management system, requiring simply a property owner’s last name to conduct a search.
