County Chamber presents annual awards

Lafayette — The Sussex County Chamber of Commerce will present its 24th annual Quality in Business, Quality in Living awards on Thursday, March 19 at The Lafayette House in Lafayette. Each year the chamber recognizes outstanding area businesses and individuals in 14 award categories, including entrepreneurial success, business partnership, customer service, young business leader, volunteer, tourism and humanitarian. “The Sussex County business community is filled with many outstanding organizations and individuals,” said Tammie Horsfield, chamber president. “It’s an honor to present awards to those businesses and individuals that push beyond the standard levels of achievement to truly excel in their chosen industries and in their commitment to the community.” Businesses both large and small received nominations for awards. Ames Rubber Corporation, JCP&L, A FirstEnergy Company, RoNetco Supermarkets Inc., and Schering-Plough Corporation were among larger corporate nominees. Non-profit organizations and small business standouts nominated for awards include Ailish’s Alpine Paint Centre, Minisink Press, Moonlight Imaging, Skylands Ice World, The Center for Prevention and Counseling, the Sussex Skyhawks, and Swim Fitness Center.
