    Safe Sitter baby-sitting course NEWTON-The Safe Sitter baby-sitting course teaches students ages 11 and older to learn to become responsible baby sitters. Classes are from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, from Oct. 5 through Oct. 26, at Newton Memorial Hospital, 175 High St. Participants will learn the essentials of how to care for children, age-appropriate games and activities, injury prevention, basic first aid, home and fire safety, feeding, diapering, and dealing with bleeding and breathing emergencies. Stress management seminar Newton Memorial Hospital will host a two-day stress management seminar from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesdays, Oct. 12 and 19, at the Milford Health and Wellness Center, 111 East Catharine St. In part one, attendees will learn how stress affects one’s body and ability to stay well. Participants will learn to recognize their individual physical reactions to stress. Methods of stress reduction will be taught, including meditation-guided imagery and journal writing. Mammograms Save Lives program MILFORD, PA.-The Mammograms Saves Lives program will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, at the Milford Health and Wellness Center, 111 East Catharine Street. Breast-health exams and education will be offered free to women 40 years and older living in Sussex County or Pike County, Pa. The hospital offers free mammograms to women who are either without insurance or who do not qualify for the N.J. CEED program. Appointments required.
