Child psychiatrist Debra Koss will address mental health group

    Newton — Child and adolescent psychiatrist Debra Koss will be the guest speaker at the Thursday, June 3 meeting of the Sussex County affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Dr. Koss’ lecture will begin at 7 p.m. at Sussex House, on the grounds of Newton Memorial Hospital, 175 High Street. Anyone raising a child with a mental health or behavioral disorder is welcome to attend. Koss is a board certified child and adolescent psychiatrist with a private practice in Sparta since 1999. She is actively involved in advocacy, both at the state and national levels, in order to increase awareness regarding mental illness in youth and to promote the importance of improved access to early intervention and treatment, and also serves as the current president of the New Jersey Council of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
