Businesses gave to spruce up PAL building
The Vernon PAL would like to take this opportunity to thank eight local businesses who participated in the 2010 PLANET Day of Service which took place at the PAL on April 22. Planet Day of Service is an annual event that unities “Planet” members around the nation for a day of giving back to their communities through beautification projects. My heartfelt thank you to the following for giving of their time and talent to assist in this project and transform our space into a beautiful landscaped masterpiece: sincere thanks to Jay Meerendonk from Countryside Landscaping for spearheading this project and choosing the PAL for the beautification project and donating his personal manpower, along with Countryside’s employees Jay and Brian to see the project through to completion. To Ron and Melissa Muller from Aspen Companies for the generous donation of pavers and the time and commitment of their workers, Adam, John and Matt to install the beautiful walkway to our outdoor pavilion and their additional assistance in planting. Thank you so much to Melissa and Vicky from Mel/Vic’s Creations for their extremely generous donation of many flowers and plants used in their landscape design, for taking time out of your day to come and assist in the planting and overseeing this project’s design. These three companies spent an entire day working as volunteers to assure that these projects would be completed and done to perfection. To Little Anthony’s for providing lunch, Baldwin Sand and Gravel for the topsoil and base gravel for the walkway, to Valley Mason for the materials needed for the completion of the walkway, to Heaven Hill Farms for the beautiful flats of flowers and to Richard J. Coch Excavating for the mulch which added the finishing touch. I encourage everyone to take a moment to stop by the PAL and marvel at the beautiful new flower beds and the walkway out back. I ask that you please support these local businesses who gave so much of themselves and their companies to volunteer to the Vernon PAL and give the facility the facelift that it needed.
