Business leader honored with Teal Heart

Branchville Business and community leader, Lynn Lancaster, was recently presented with the Teal Heart Award from state office of the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners. Lancaster, a member for seven years, was honored for her exceptional efforts in creating and maintaining the state website, as well as her outstanding years of service and dedication to the organization. Lancaster also received the Sussex-Warren Chapter's Teal Heart Award in 2002. Lancaster received a bachelors degree from Parson's School of Design in New York City. She is the creative director of AdvancedGroup.net, a Sussex County web design and hosting company, and is also president and CEO of AroundTheArea.com, a web-based company that provides information on events and activities in Sussex County. She is also an advisory board member of the Sussex County Office on Aging, an advisory board director for Lakeland Bank, and a member of the Branchville Rotary. The New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners is the oldest statewide organization to address the concerns and issues of business ownership by women. The organization's objectives are to encourage and support business ownership by women, enable women business owners to network, provide a legislative voice for the interests of women-owned businesses and provide entrepreneurial training and assistance. Since its founding in 1978, the organization has grown to include 14 chapters across the state. Classes, seminars and informational events are offered to members and aspiring entrepreneurs through its Women's Business Center.
