Art classes for seniors
Vernon The Senior Quality of Life Foundation (SEQUAL) is sponsoring art classes taught by Phil Yetter of Sussex for seniors at the Senior Center in Vernon. These classes were previously offered last fall at the Littel Community Center in Franklin and earlier this year at Liberty Towers in Newton. The classes include drawing, water colors and oil painting. SEQUAL is a 501(C)(3) charity whose mission is to offer programs not available from the government and to educate seniors and their families about resources available to improve their lives. Among SEQUAL’s current projects are the Neighbor to Neighbor volunteer visitor program to provide socialization for homebound seniors, and gifts and Music Therapy for Seniors. All programs are in Sussex County. All trustees are unpaid volunteers and the organization is financed by donations. A major fundraiser was held at the Farmstead Golf and Country Club on the last Sunday in September. For more information, visit sequalfoundation.org or write to PO Box 497, Andover, N.J. 07821.
