Lafayette Andrew Maat recently completed all the requirements to become Lafayette Boy Scout troop 850’s newest Eagle Scout. Eagle is the highest honor given to a Scout by the Boy Scouts of America. Andrew’s Eagle project was the rebuilding and replanting of the landscaping in front of the Lafayette Township Fire Department. He also raised enough money to put the finishing touches on the Firefighters Memorial located at the firehouse. Andrew is a senior at Sussex County Technical School and a member of the Lafayette Township Fire Department. He plans to stay active in Troop 850 as an assistant scoutmaster. He will receive the Eagle Scout Award at a special Eagle Court of Honor to be held at a later date.
