Airport owner admits stealing grant money

Wantage The 87-year-old owner of the Sussex Airport, Paul Styger, pleaded guilty to embezzling nearly $400,000 in federal grants that were supposed to be used for renovations to the airport. Federal prosecutors say Styger received about $3 million in grants for the airport beginning in 2004. He pleaded guilty Tuesday to taking about $378,000 of the money between October 2007 and January 2008 for his own use. Styger faces a maximum prison sentence of up to five years and a maximum fine of $250,000. His sentencing was set for September.
