Addiction seminar addresses concerns, trends and options

    NEWTON — The Center for Prevention and Counseling is presenting the seminar, “Addiction: Why Can’t They Just Stop, the Sussex County Substance Abuse Conference,” on Friday, Oct. 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dr. Lucinda Miner, deputy director from the Office of Science Policy & Communications, National Institute on Drug Abuse, will give the keynote presentation, “Neurobiology of Addiction.” The conference will discuss co-occurring disorders, families and addiction, Sussex County substance abuse and suicide trends, enabling, and local resources. The cost is $25 and includes breakfast and lunch. This conference has been submitted for CADC, LCADC, LPC, CPS, MFT, and Physician/Pharmacist CE recertification credits. The courses meet requirements of the New Jersey Department of Education for Professional development hours. Pre-registration is required.
