A big thank you to the Franklin community
To the Editor: My son recently had his Bar Mitzvah at Temple Shalom in Franklin. In preparation for this event I contacted the staff at Franklin Township to determine the process for installing a permanent sign directing people to the temple, which is located on Oak Street in the borough. Dealing with a municipal government is not always a positive experience, but in this case everyone that I spoke with was so nice and accommodating with such a "can do" attitude that it was a great experience. They suggested that I speak with John Gettis of Gettis Signs also located in the borough. When I explained to him my intentions, he actually donated the sign which was later installed by the Franklin Township staff. So often today, you hear of religious prejudice, but the people of Franklin Township showed absolutely none of that. It left us all with a wonderful feeling of true community. The people of Franklin have much to be proud of. Thank you to John Gettis from Gettis Signs and to the following Franklin Township staff: Pat Leasure, Kathy Gleason, Rich Wolak, Mike Ungerman, Fred Babcock, Steve Heller.
