Wantage Township - A small Cessna flying from Sussex Airport crashed in the woods just off Route 565 near the Sussex Elks on Wednesday morning. “The pilot was experiencing some kind of an engine malfunction and attempted to get the aircraft to return to the airport,” said State Police Sgt. Joseph Tafuni, assistant commander of the Sussex barracks. “The pilot and a passenger both were injured with leg and back injuries. They are conscious and alert and are en route to hospitals,” Tafuni said.
